The transition from relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS) can be difficult to pinpoint and the period of uncertainty can last for 2–3 years.1 It is important that patients are provided with information on the signs of transition, and how these changes in their multiple sclerosis (MS) symptoms can be managed. It is also helpful for those patients already diagnosed with SPMS to better understand how to manage their symptoms and to ensure they remain adequately supported while living with SPMS.

Living well with MS – Managing the change was developed and funded by Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK in collaboration with a UK MS Nurse steering group. It contains a suite of materials to support MS centres with the organisation and hosting of educational sessions for all MS patients who would like to understand more about the course of the disease.

The suite of materials can be downloaded below.
